Anybody know where I can stay overnight in the close vicinity to Chichester Marina without having to pay marina rates? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif
Anchor just before Ichenor reach outside the fairway on the starboard side, or there are buoys and a visitors pontoon (no access to shore) at Ichenor which also has a pontoon for (very) short stays or parking the dinghy.
Anchor at East Head, but beware a 32 foott yacht that will catch your ancor chain at 0342 at night, get his rudder caught on your chain, get his anchor rope caught round his propeller, disable his engine, scratch your boat, cause you both to drag, nearly hitting another yacht behind you.
That was last weekend.
I have his name, and the yacht name, this weekend I'm assessing the damage properly.
!! Lets just say I went running out on deck with VERY little on - his wife smiled one of those smiles.......... /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif As it took a good few hours to sort out - I soon chucked a few clothes on !!
IF you're staying on board then pick up a vacant mooring nearby amongst similar sized boats. Yep, sometimes traditional methods are best. . .
And Itchenor buoys or visitors' pontoon as already suggested.
