Good day,

I have been invited to an old boys school re-union at the Doggett and Badge pub by Blackfriars Bridge, London, are there any moorings nearby? I fancy taking the boat up there from Ramsgate.

As always many thanks for all replies.

Not sure there are any public moorings in the area, but I wouldn't want to moor on that part of the river - very busy with tripper boats, rubbish barges and the catamaran buses: choppy and fast currents. Probably no where to leave a tender safely, either.

St Katherine's Marina is the only real choice, but is probably price-gouging in Olympic year.

Depending on dates, the river is effectively closed for security reasons (QE2 jubilee/Olympic Games) and only pre-registered leisure vessels will be allowed up past Gravesend.
