Driving home on the M40 at six pm after long day in London and the overhead gantry is stating long delays between Junct 5-6. Thinking about long detour on poorly maintained A roads but as I have no confidence in these messages, from previous experience, I carried on and lo and behold - nothing, clear as can be, zilch. No wonder nobody takes any notice of these bloody signs. Can nobody take responsibility for this farce?I know - let's stick up a warning at 3pm and then sod off home for our 'tea' and forget the poor sods who might be pounding the motorways later on when the road is completely clear.
