After cleaning my prefilters, my mechanic told me I have water and diesal bug. I have already dosed my tanks with Marine 16, he said to give them a good dosing. So I thought to pour the entire bottle down each tank and overdose the tanks.

Is there any problems with putting more additive in than the label states?

Throwing money away?

If you had diesel bugs in your tank, and have now killed them, the main difference is that they are now dead diesel bugs instead of live ones. The dead bugs can't reproduce, so you should have the problem under control, but they can still clog your filters. Putting more additive in won't make the dead bugs any deader, and the problem should reduce over time as you flush the "corpses" out of the system by using the contaminated fuel.

I gave mine something like quadruple dose and no side effects, also no bug problem therafter (touches wood)

I have the same problem and so I put a full bottle in each tank being told you cant overdose to any harmfull effect.
Filters now look pretty bad
