It appers that erroneous use of the word "wreckage" has fired up hopes of resolving this mystery. Actually some cushions and a piece of wood are currently (Monday am) being examined by forensic experts, so perhaps 'flotsam' would have been more appropriate.
Not much to go on after all.

The report here makes reference to "blue pieces of a yacht's hull matching the colour of the missing 25ft sloop".
