So which part of the notice refers to an outrageous hike?
The marina users seem to have adopted a change in pricing policy......so presumably that can't be the outrageous bit.
A 15% hike in electricity pricing is an every-day occurrence and the general UK population doesn't seem to bat an eyelid.

From the notice, this was something decided by the members of a club at their AGM. Not a commercial organisation dealing with customers. So why the outrage?
Give us a bit more explanation please, Dylan.

Ahh, but read it again. It says the annual rent will be scrapped and a new figure of £80 per metre berth width was decided on. That could be £80 per metre per month?

Only in the sowf of engerland! Interesting that it is the size of the berth that is charged and not the size of the boat - I assume all pontoons are the same length. And as for the leccy, it sort of depends what the price was - a 15% hike on 5p/unit is a wallet emptying 0.75p.

From reading KTL, Dylans reporting its £80 per metre of boat width in the berth :) and that he cant find anyone to take money off him for a berth!

You need to shop around! Havent had a leccy price rise in 2 years or more. And at least I do get somethinbg for my leccy money.

At both salcombe and fowey I pay £18 for a buoy for the night and nothing else. At QAB I paid £33 for a marina berth for 10m for the night - the first time I have ever paid above £30.

sorry about that

thought the irony was obvious

the low prices are odd given that the island has more millionnaires per capita than any other island in the UK

there are several fishermen who own the giant pelagic boats

£60 million a pop (including quota) and they work for ten weeks a year

insane

D

Now back on the shetland mainland in Vidlin Voe

another little pontoon berth

saves blowing up the dinghy

raining and blowing a five from the north - waiting for a break to get around the corner to the next voe or across to yell if we can

You have to remember that some of your readership are just slow on the uptake. I will try harder next time!
