I didn't get out, but I was on board trying to fix things. It was flipping cold last night and very very damp. I was up at dawn (6.30ish) and everything was soaking wet, but by 10.30 it was gorgeous and everything had dried out. Watched with envy as Alshira and Sweetpea popped out. (I came home and cut the grass!)
We left our Mersea mooring for the last time this season, and had a lovely sail up the Blackwater in our shirtsleeves. A handful of boats still at Stone, but Marconi moorings all empty. A lovely Spirit (?) was in company-ish before she turned back just before the N.Doubles.
We picked up a mooring outside Heybridge lock to have a pint in The Old Ship, then round the corner to Fullbridge Wharf where the crane was ready to lift her out. By 2.30pm she was on the blocks - and then the real work started!
What a great final sail of the season compared to last year (F7-8, pi$$istant rain).
