Outhall help advice?

I've lost my outhall, well I know where it is its stuck inside the boom, I've managed to pull the wire end out through the exit rope end but it doesn't seem to be tensioning anymore do doesn't seem much point poking it back down to try and fish it out.

Taking the end if the boom off would help but the bolts have all seized and I think even if I got the bolts out the end plates would be well corroded on.

Any one got any bright ideas? I'm thinking I might have to rig a new outhall with blocks externally ;(

Sounds like it might have broken inside the boom?

Are there other (reefing?) lines running through the boom that you could tape a messenger to, to pull through a new outhaul? If so, you could use dynemma rather that wire - much easier to rig.

How vertical will the boom go while its still attached? Maybe a volunteer in a bosun's chair might help?

Sorted thanks, used the reefing lines to run tracer then a little hooped wire from the reef exit to the outhall exit, all working phew

It's amazing what you can do with string, tape and a bit of wire coathanger!
