Outdrive woes - sudden loss of performance

Took the boat out yesterday as it was flat calm conditions, but I couldn't get on the plane and there were strange noises coming from the back of the boat. Everything was working fine, so I assume it must be a problem with the outdrive. Here is a photo of the setup - any ideas?

p.s. I regularly use the flush muff.

True, the performance started flagging towards the end of the day, it wouldn't go up quite as smartly as it did first thing. I think the fluid must be getting low.

I'll have a look at the flaps later.

Your focus needs to stay on the shaft in the gimble bearing, which could develop as a bit of a growler...
