I'm looking to fit an outboard bracket to the transon of my Fairline Targa
and I'm looking for some advice. The davits which came with the boat
look to be bolted directly through the top of the transom with only nut/washers
on the inside. I was looking to do the same with the outboard bracket (max 30 kg
to support), but need to mount this vertically. Is this good enough to just bolt
through with nut/washers or do I need an additional plate (wood/metal) on the
inside to spread the load from the 4/6 bolts ?
Any do's/don'ts when it comes to drilling holes through gel coat ? (Should I leave
this to a professional ?)
Anyone else fitted an outboard bracket to their transoms ?
Any advice would be gratefully received !!
