Hi

Having yomped my outboard, inflatable and fuel can miles down a beach I notice the outboard clamp end cup is missing on one of the brackets.
I am referring to the washer type item in the graphic below.

I need a relatively quick replacement. Does anyone know where I might buy the cup?

Thanks

They are always falling off! I suspect it will have to be an order from a dealer for your engine's manufacturer. A 2p clamped in will prevent damage to the transom/bracket wood in the meantime.

You dont say make or model but they should be available from your dealer. The cup may be available alone or it may come with screw etc.

I have the same issue with my 15hp Mariner but the screw had sheared off as the usual stainless into aluminium.

I drilled and tapped my clamp screw made a new washer from 5 mm thick stainless using a hole saw in a pillar drill counter sunk the centre hole in the new washer and fitted a counter sunk screw. Job done.

I will replace the other at some time as I notice it is rusting so must be mild steel.

The cost of a replacement is why I made my own

If its badged as a Johnson the model number will identify it and determine its year of manufacture.

The part you need and the retaining nut are available,

See the prts diagrams at http://epc.brp.com/Index.aspx?lang=E&s1=7cf012d2-2ebe-4928-9650-8cee17e62591

I would contact Oakley marine in Brighton aka Outboards Direct http://www.outboards-direct.co.uk/

If they dont have it in stock they will get it for you

Quote the model description, including model number, and the part number.
