A week off and a good forecast so to hell with getting on with remodelling my house I will be heading out from home ( Troon) and hitting my usual quiet anchorages in the Clyde over the next 7 days or so! A week of peace and quiet and single handed sailing.....any one else planning the same??? if so there is always a warm dram awaiting aboard the good ship "In Dreams"

Paul.

What planet was this?

Just returned from Troon. Beat all the way down on saturday in 25 knots and teeming and I mean Teeming rain.

Today? Wind turned N'ly so a beat all the bl00dy way back up. At least the rain went off.

The new CCC Troon weekend was a success - in spite of the conditions.

I believe that over 30 boats started. The reception at Troon was 1st class. Good sponsorship from Troon Yacht Haven, West Coast Marine and Mount Gay as well as a hog roast from Scott's - the marquee and dancing were well received!

Conditions coming down on the saturday were quite demanding - we were only two up and lacked rail fodder but once we got dried out appreciated the race.

Yesterdays' race was much nicer, a very steady wind - both days - helped - we're not used to that further up the Firth and a bit of sunshine.

All in all an excellent weekends racing and entertainment. The committe are certainly trying to come up with new ideas.

b = built
o = one
o = off

Someone else will probably be able to fill in the ? - I can't remember. Claysie.... what is it again?

Alone ?

Thought it was Sam wot did the building, but hey.
I saw the fleet heading South on Saturday... I was driving North to the mooring in stair-rod rain.
What a difference on Sunday morning, tanning in the cockpit. No fish, though. Too much fresh water in the loch, methinks.

Sam? Could easily be. There's a plate on board which explains all.

It was very, very, very wet out in the Firth on saturday.

No its Sandy

and he did a fantastic job. If ever a boat and owner were made for each other, its Commode Jim and Saboo. She's kept immaculately and few boats (flotilla/charter boats aside) are used as much.

Don't know if you'll manage to get internet access to read this but you certainly picked the best week of the "summer????" Wed looks good 22 degrees forecast and sun all day (bet they are wrong) I may well nip over to Arran Fri night after work and sail back Sat morn. Lamlash probably.

Aye, she is a beautiful boat but most things Jim owns, or has owned, wouldnt look out of place on the mantleshelf always thought it a great shame that the man who built her never got to know her.

We left Troon on Friday - sheltered from the rain in Largs on Saturday but had great weather in Rothesay on Sunday and came through the Kyles of Bute to Tarbert today in glorious sunshine. On the way back to Fleetwood now (Cambletown tomorrow before Belfast Loch and IOM) - hope the weather holds for the rest of the week!
