Out of Print Haynes Diesel Boat Engine Manual

I Recently attended an RYA Diesel Maintanace course and the instructor recomended the Haynes Technical manual for Diesel Boat engines.

I had a leaf through and was impressed by the detail and sheer volume of information in it, unfortunately when I tried to get one I found out it was out of print.

The reply from the email to Haynes confirmed it was out of print and wasn't going to be reprinted (why?)

Can anyone tell me where I could possibly get a copy or suggest anything as good?

You could always either look in Loot (www.loot.com) or place a free wanted ad with them - always an excellent place for all things wonderful, needy and hard to find (and yes I work for loot.com!). There is also http://www.haynes.co.uk/ - you could perhaps e-mail them for some information? Good luck.

If your diesel engine is derived in any way from an automobile block, such as the Volvo MD22 series (Perkins 2l diesel, as found in Montegos etc) etc you can still get the auto Haynes manual and make the few mental leaps needed - eg forget the radiator and flying saucer air intakes etc. This is what I do and it is effective (Volvo)
