Just watched a few sailboats venturing out into the Solent. It's peeing down and blowing a right old hoolie. Are these perfect conditions for sailboats or something? Wind is one thing but this?? It can't be pleasurable surely. I would have thought it was potentially treacherous out there today. Am I being a woose?

Might sound odd but sailing in roughish conditions is the same as undertaking any activity where things are a bit difficult...it is all about the challenge and enjoying dealing with things in other than benign conditions. I have enjoyed sailing in challenging weather in the same way that i have enjoyed walking in bad weather - does that mean I am a bit odd?

Exactly what my H just said and I can understand it to a point but this just looks potentially dangerous to me. Aside from anything else...they'll freeze
