hi would like your views, i recently completed a full restore/rebuild on a seagull silver century. it is used as a back up for inboard, my dilemma is one set of friends insist an out board should no be transported on its side but vertical, the other say it makes no difference. is it fine to leave on back of boat whilst towing or should i place in the back of pick up. thank you in advance. garry

This is road towing ? How strong is the transom ? If strong enough and the outboard secured so the shaft doesn't bounce up and down, then whatever suits you best. If you are going to lay it flat, just remember to run the carb dry or the petrol will leak out.
