Left home at 5a.m. yesterday to view the 3 boats that we had shortlisted suitable to our needs and budget.

Boat no1 a 1994 Sealine 320 Statesman twin diesel on o/d
Nice boat however needed some work, mainly cleaning and servicing...........

Boat no2 Arcoa 1075 the one on Boats and outboards, again nice boat and a good size too, however her age at 1988 and few other little issues went against her..............

Boat no3 and yep looks like we staying faithfull to the marque
details below,in STUNNING condition and a total credit to her owner of the last 5 yrs,it was a total no brainer given the age and condition and then the added plus of the brand new motor and drive less than 160 hrs ago!
SWMBO and I are delighted and looking forward to getting her back to Wales next weekend,(Paul if your reading this thanks again for a superb boat)

PS We bought direct from the owner as I had seen his advert on B&O saving a few squids.

PPS Seeing as there is a new Navman chartplotter and new Navman autopilot fitted I may as well stay with the brand and therefore where will a find good prices on a Navman DSC vhf and a medium price range fishfinder?

Broker speak!!
Owner has just completed a round trip from Gosport to Cherboug in some "quite big seas" and logged an impressive average of 32 lph at 22 knotts.

Cheers

Excellent - I've not seen another one with a Yanmar (swapped mine from a V8 myself). The standard 200 hp diesel would be too underpowered.

I too went from a 2556 to a 2858, and the difference is huge. More solid, more stable and more space.

The flybridge is unbelieveably good for such a small boat, largely because you go down into the saloon and therefore the flybridge is not too high, so the boat stays stable when lots of people are up there.

25 knots and if you look carefully you can see 7 heads up there, not bad for a boat this size.

And I've taken her to sea in weather I really shouldn't have, on the last trip from the south coast to London, even Dover coastguard said the straight was "rough" on an all ships message, but she handled it well.

I hope you get as much enjoyment as I do.

Excellent news Rob, I really wanted a 2858 before I bought the 285 in Feb 05. Cracking boat and they look good on the water.

I can vouch for the rough weather handling of Marks boat - we had a lumpy tandem trip back to Sparkes after Trafalgar a couple of years ago and his 2858 looked very stable.

Richmond at the mo. Having a few jobs done at eel pie next week then my daughter and I will bring her back round as soon as the weather improves - probably to Southampton.
