I was hanging about with coliholic waiting for the ships to come out of portsmouth, on saturday am and got a phone call that we are on TV. Fortunately i had forecast the same, and had tidied away the fenders and spare lines, put on a sombre shirt and selected a suitable Churchillian cigar. The moose #1 was nearby and i advised him to pput away an offending fender, to neaten things up a bit. I believe that there are repeats this evening so of course i will be glued to the box.

I was not on "fender duty" for that sector so don't blame me.
Your boat is just visible in one of the videos on the BBC news site, it just misses ours though/forums/images/icons/crazy.gif

So waddyathink...

of Solent boating then? Is D2 a permanent fixture now in Puerto Solente or will you be fleeing back to the Med the first time it rains?
How about the trip from the Med across Biscay? I dont remember seeing much in the way of a report or pics or have I missed them? Maybe being saved for bumper MBY feature, praps?

Re: So waddyathink...

Med across Biscay report.

Started in la Coruna fuel pontoon. HM comes over in his dinghy and says you had better have a look at the place first, and it wd be ok in a 40 footer. So i squeezed it in, and then 2 hours refuelling. Trazie made some bacon and eggs. I went and bought some Red Bull. We set of about 5 ish in thwe afternoon, not sure quite the time. Anyway, ben and trazie did some driving then trazie and me, then ben and trazie again, then all of us, then ben on his own while i tried to kip but ben went bangity crash with 15 knots on the nose and big swell so i got uop again and we hung a 30 degrees right at 22 knots towards to french coast and went thru the raz de sein, and then got some fuel in brest. Didn't see anything, cept the dsc went off and i freaked as i looked out thru the window, saw what seemed a massive bioat right on top of us but was probly just the reflections of the light on the dash and spun the boat around, but then notheing there, so soddit, off we went again, and it took about 20 hours cos of the swell which jfm warned us about but which we didn't allow fior by going straight at it instead of eastwards first a bit. We actually went to Camaret, filled up again whilst trazie made some more bacon and eggs plus sausages i think perhaps, then i paid by cheque cos the french card blew up, and then we set off to come home.

oh. and the solent is nice and warm, lovely weather except inplymouth. And it can be nice and warm, altho you can't jump in. Checked out port solent, QAB plymouth, Dartmouth, salcombe, st pp, cherbourg and yarmouth last week or so, so just a few mnore and we can go back to vilamoura for winter i think.
