hhhmmmm if I had 200,000 plus to spend I don't think it would be on that boat.....can o worms and all that....it would have to be a brave man or a fool to part with that amount of cash for something in such nick.
Will this have been an insurance write-off bought as a speculation ?
I remember posting last year that I would prefer my modern pride and joy to sink and be written off rather than be utterly spoiled and requiring virtually a complete internal rebuild.
I can only imagine a trail of electrical/mechanical problems following any prospective purchaser.
Agree, nothing but trouble, and imho worth zip! Effectively the entire boat is a write off. Only the GRP is worth using in a complete new rebuild, and 100% refit of all structural timber, joinery, electrical and mechanical systems, and that makes no sense.
Well, if you own a boatyard, with staff who may, due to current economic conditions, have time on their hands, just maybe, you might find them something to do on the sunken but putatively restorable lump of expensive plastic in the back corner. Then some bean counter says "stop that, the Revenue will hang you out to dry"...
New (replacement) Williams too as that suffered engine damage when attempting to tow the P48 off the ledge.
Do not understand what is is with these boats as I heard only yesterday that the above boat is now for sale too.
Another one (2008) is to be sold (by EBY?) following the owner getting a new P48 boat to replace his orginal one as it was a heap of trouble and he lost significant use of it since it was delv. having warranty issues addressed
Just been speaking to Trevor at Fairline Southampton, and he tells me that the one that went aground on Bembridge Ledge was repaired and is not for sale. The owner of the 2008 boat for sale at Essex had an engine problem and would not wait for Volvo to fix it - so bought a new one!! The sunk one apparently hit an underwater obstruction after delivery in Dubai and was brought back by EBY as salvage, so this is from the horse's mouth and are the facts.
Dont forget the 4 rolls of insulating tape, some flex from an old Hoover and some of them blue snap lock crimping terminals!

If you had the money available and the time and skill or could get peeps in, she could be a fanatics boat,
and you would know where everything was/is so could fix it.
great way to learn about your boat and personalize it.
