How bad was the weather this weekend!!!? I was supporting a Celtic long-boat race that was to take place on Sunday, so went out on Saturday to lay 3 turn markers for 5 mile race. The weather was fairly bad, well actually very bad, for my 17ft runabout. I took some guys out with me from the yacht club and when we returned to the club pontoon, various comments were made like "ouch - my back hurts". The best one being "Dave - you own the most effing bizaar form of transport I have ever been on". OK so at one stage we did hit 38.8kts.

Got the boat out ready for the race on Sunday - race called off due to storm winds during the night. Great, I thought, that gets me off the hook, 'cos the sea looked MAD! Then someone said, "Dave, would you mind going out to retrieve the markers?" Well, if Saturday was bad, that was nutt'n compared to the sea I (stupidly) went out on. White horses were being whipped into foam and great holes appeared that my ickle boat slammed into - and this time we were only just planing. Water everywhere, especialy in my boat. I was, for the first time in my boating life, glad to be putting the boat away. We lost one of the markers anyway :(

How was your weekend?

You seem to have got lost??

"Salcombe Harbour mooring. Easy entrance. Moorings cheap but water taxi expensive. Attractive town. Busy everywhere.

Portsmouth Choice of marinas, all easy to find and enter.
Shipping and many yachts.

Falmouth Marina. Entrance is reasonably easy but there are many moored boats to avoid in the dark. Town a bit of a walk away. Busy everywhere " ????
