Umm, as mentioned a few days ago, props went via GMS Medway to SMM Props to be checked and refurbed. I expected SMM to be approx £ 30ish each so with a handling charge for GMS say £ 40 each tops inc VAT. Wife picked them up today.......£ 106.92!!!!!!!!! Jeez...
Next time either I take them or they goto Steel Dev. as everyone recommended.

Also one of the trim fins has dissapeared off one leg, in fact Canboria and I wound a small stub of it off the bolt to get it out. Wife also goes to John Hawkins local Volvo r*&^ers, errr parts suppliers.....I unfortunately I swore on the phone but £ 70..... "does sir want 2" no he doesn't want one at that price.

Not overly impressed with props, they weren't bent just fouled, all they've done is sand and paint them black. I could ave done that especially for over a £ 100.

Bloody Hell Jim!

I gave them four props, two of which had blades almost completely missing and they charged me forty quid a prop.

Mind you, I showed up on my Raliegh Runabout and made out they were my friend's props, you must have done something to make their eyes light up and put their rippoff hats on. Sorry I recommended them to you if they're going to take the p#ss like that. Wonder if they're going through a slump in business and are hitting the smaller trade hard?

Any closer to getting afloat yet Jim? Need any help?

Syd :)

You must have a glass winky, cos they saw you coming. SD just refurb'd my prop, repitched it balanced it for a 40 quid in a 24hour turnaround.

Thanks for that Barry!
Actually the full joke is why do Gypsys not need contraceptives?

Because with Crystal balls they can see themselves coming!

Anyway I am one peed off bunny now.

Just been down to fit them, had a problem with the anode bolts cos some seemed too short but sorted that. Canboria and I push props on, Derek finds wood to loock prop whilst I do up first nut. Go to do second nut same piece of wood doesn't lock prop up.
Check and find they are 1/2" different radius and not evenly, GRRRRRRRRR. I am off work tomorrow and looking to do serious damage when I go back with these things.
I'll post tomorrow what happens........

Sounds like they've been taking the pee outta you. I'd take the things off and throw them back at the people who supposidly have done the work. I you run them as they are now you'll probably do a bit of damage to seal etc. If they're that bad and running out of balance......well.

Don't U start! I get enough from SWMBO,
"when are we gonna be able to use the boat?"
"Followed by why do you have to work on it?"

It's partially her who has restricted working hours on it and thereby caused it to drag on.

Yes Clive if we ca get the Work, Money, Social life equation sorted again we'd like to see you as well.
