Time for a thread drift - raked transoms

Interesting; 'difficult to manoeuvre', I wonder how the steeply raked rudder post affects things.

My Twister cannot usually be steered astern and she has a steeply-raked transom. I have often wondered whether this is the cause or whether the small rudder area is more to blame.

I suppose that when going astern the rudder would tend to lift the stern if it is put over but I can't see why this would affect the steering.

I've looked at that Blog site Roberto, but that rig interests me, not 100% sure how it works. The lowered mast is topped up against the after side of the standing mast and carries that Lug'sl..is that about correct?
So the standing mast is purely there to hang a purchase off to raise the second mast? I appreciate they can hang working lights etc: off it if they lower the sailing rig while fishing, but just wondering if that's how the rig works..
