What would you do in this situation???.
On a drying mooring ,you have just run your engine with the leg down(manual leg) when you sundenly discover that the tides gone out faster than you thought and the outdrive is already half buried in the harbour, all atemps to shift it normaly have failed and the waters dissapearing fast.....what would you do???

get out and start diggin'!

failing that you'll need a pump (one on a fire engine is good) and some hose... fluidise the sand while winding your leg up.

alternatively... go to the pub and hope there's no damage!

prevention is better than cure... bla ... bla.. bla..

good luck, steve.

Got to go offline soon so will tell you solution that worked on Sat....
Get into the water ...brrrrr
turn boat.....push the bow until stern has outgoing tide pushing agaist it,
get two oars either side of outdrive and push the boat so leg"breaks"ie it thinks it hit something and leg rises from the sand...phew!! may only work on smaller boats!!

Not fussed, my boat was designed that the leg could be down when it dried without having a damaging effect as long as it was in sand and not on rock.
