We're thinking of joining you for this year's Ostend trip although it will depend on weather conditions as it will be my wife's first trip abroad.

Being moored at Pin Mill we were wondering if there are many boats leaving from the river Orwell / Shotley and if there are any plans to leave in 'convoy'?

The answer is yes, there are boats leaving.
We are coming out from Burnham and could rendezvous at Long Sand Head area if no one is available from Orwell.
3 years ago, we turned back into Harwich as weather went iffy, so no pressure on your wife.

Hello Paul,

We (and I believe Morgana) will be leaving from Shotley in the early hours (3am ish last year) on the Saturday morning, and as Jim says, there is potential to meet others en-route. I will be down at Plymouth on Sunday morning so could have a chat about times/plans etc then ??.

Alan

we will go over on thursday leave Landguard approx 07.00z

Thanks everyone.

There's seems quite a selection of departures - Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Are we all heading for the same marina. Hows many days are folks planning on staying?

PS. Alan, great to learn you are able to make Plymouth. Look forward to catching up.

I have a feeling that you'll be disappointed. This N / NE air stream is very stable so 15kn from NE is more likely. Sorry!

No no no no no! That can't possibly happen.... it would blow us all the way there. It will swing around to SW Wednesday and Thursday, then revert to NE on Sunday and Monday.

Thanks everyone.

Yes, we all head for the same marina, the Montgomery dock.

The number of days stayed tends to vary too, but most depart Monday morning, although many also take Tuesday off work, and have an extra day (this is our plan this year)

Its a great fun gathering, with a really nice crowd of people.

We are heading over from The Deben on Thursday evening.
Leaving Sunday evening and heading for Queenbrough on route to Limehouse and the deights of old London Town.

Coor this was my 1500th post.:)

We're a thursday depart similar to sailorman. Do we need to let Robert know we're coming or just rock up? I never remember.

And in a lovely new shiny variant.... 2-4 variable, with sunglasses required.

:)
