Osney Marine opinions?

Morning all,
I'm planning a trip to Oxford in a couple of weeks and would value some feedback on Osney Marine or other options below Osney Bridge. We're looking for a marina mooring with decent facilities including showers.
 
Oh I see :)

Osney is OK, it's quite quiet for a city centre marina and a short walk into the city, but there are plenty of busses close by if you need them.
A lot of people pass by without knowing its there....Security looks pretty good

I've not stayed there, but I know the area very well (I used to work 200 yards away)
 
Thanks Prof...looks like space is an issue on the date we're there.

Can anyone suggest alternatives, such as riverside campsites (with showers :o) or pubs/hotels which allow use of facilities?
 
Don't think Osney is really a visitor type marina, not sure they have showers etc... once above Reading you are really on your own.
 
Not many below Oxford TBH :( Benson boatyard is the nearest shower I can think of downstream of Osney
It is a different world above the bridge though :)

Watson, can you get under Osney?

We stayed in Osney Marina about 5 years ago with a Freeman 33. A delightful spot and so handy as a base for exploring Oxford, which was why we stayed about a month.
Unless it has changed, stern or bow on only moorings on right as you enter and alongside on the left are both owned/ run independently. Depth is not huge, but we just managed with <3 ft. We stayed on the left and were given a mooring that was temporarily vacant. At 33ft long we were a bit long to stay on the right.
Give them a call. The left hand lot certainly have a website. Google Osney Marina.
