I had osmosis treatment carried out in 2001 but have just discovered it is back.The whole hull covered in little blisters.Surely this should not happen this soon after spending 4k to resolve it?

only if done incorrecty/badly - what warrenty did you get with the job
are you sure they are osmotic blisters and not just blisters in the antifoul?

not entirely on your subject but i noticed that 2 yachts tested by yachting world recently had guaruntees against osmosis of 5 years only

The old days of 10yrs are long gone.
It was also common advise amongst many of us surveyors to tell client to have boat checked BEFORE last day of warranty ... like when you have a new car - have it gone over before it comes out of factory warranty ....
Check date on warranty expiry .... check date of survey .... also clauses in warranty.
If you had a cash job with no warranty - then you are up creek without paddle.
5yrs is generally a short time and indicates a poor job done.
