I have been considering installing a small automatic 12v bilge pump in my 1947 pine clinker-built, gaff rig Opera sailing yacht. The yacht dries out on sand twice in 24 hours and needs to be pumped out once a week. I've heard that using the pump might cause some interaction between the salt water and the rivets is this true?

Highly unlikely. There will be no contact between the pump and the rivets Plus they are probably copper so no zinc to dezincify unlike brass
