Harry Kings boatyard are asking for help by commenting on these olans,
I have just copied & pasted below as I imagine a lot of members have visited or regularly visit PinMill & may have an opinion. I couldn’t see the subject elsewhere, but if it is, apologies.

Made a very similar comment recently about the R Stour dredgings which are being dumped in a very similar location!!!!!

Hmmmmmmm looking at the so called "beneficial deposit sites" it looks to me a bit like sweeping the dirt under the carpet or even chucking it over your neighbours fence! It would seem to me that the sediment is simply going to wash up and down the river and make the entrance to SYH and inside the marina even shallower!! Which of course SYH then has to dredge out again. Always good to make it someone else's problem isn't it?

This has already happened and caused a very shallow "lump" just inside the edge of the Orwell deep water channel near SYH entrance when dredgings from the Pin Mill area and from the Ipswich Haven entrance were scattered in the river at this point. Very disconcerting to be in the main channel and find the depthimeter suddenly read 0.2m.
