Hi Guys,

A possible reverse PX may be in the offing i.e. they buy my boat by them giving me their boat and I also give them a wad of cash! Was not planned but should explore possibilities.

I am fairly confident on the boat but have always felt T29's hold there value far too well. Have noted that the prices are really starting to drop at the moment (asking prices down by 10k to where I thought they should be) so do not want to get caught out with continued huge depreciation.

For this reason I need the approx price (list preferably and usual discount applied at time) to the 1999 Targa 29 with Kad 32's! This might help me work out if I am about to lose my shirt on a deal for a boat that I will probably only keep 12/18 months!

Only a possibility at the moment, and not a change I was planning, but I do have a soft spot for T29's..... /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Haven't got me bible here so can't tell you the orginal price but if I were knocking her out would be asking £75K expecting around £68K if no trade.

If you can agree a figure as a private buyer around £60K and assuming all ok with survey then you shouldn't be looking to take a bath, 18 months from now probably still worth £55k

Dont understand, so may I ask.. 75k is..trade/brokerage? expect to accept 68k? Or, as a private sale, hope for 60k. Is that what you mean? Just curious, as its one on our list (though not very high). But is 60k for 1999 realistic?

Old chinese proverb "Boat is hole in water to throw money into", my own outlook is find it, enjoy it, use it at every opportunity, and to hell with the cost's. If you keep worrying about what it cost's you probably cannot afford it.

Paul, I have some old Fairline brochures and pricelists at home. If you don't get a definitive answer during today, PM me tonight and I'll look them out

Thanks Trev,

Those are virtualy exactly the same as the figures I reckon as well. Still be interested to see how much new in 1999. I have noted that there is a clean 2000 T30, Kad 32's with Lux Pack available for £66k, so a £60k base price is nearer the mark for the 1999.

I think the asking porice at brokers is £70-£75k, The actual prices achieved are £65-£70k and that means the owners take home should be £60k. Therefore Private sale £60-£65k.

I think these prices are now achievable as Sealine S28's which are the direct competitor in this market are about £70k for a 2001/2002. Given the "superior" quality of the Fairline it should be equivalent to a Sealine S28 that is two years newer. IMHO of course,

If you are retailing it as dealer/broker figure would be asking £75K and expect offers on mid to late 60's, take commission out and the owner ends up with around 60k, if you are selling privately then ticket it up around late 60's and hope for early 60's.

Its end of season, coming towards christmas, there is stock of main stream stuff around, deals to be done. Come spring first sign of a bit of sun and it's a bun fight again to get the best boats.

I always buy end of season and bash out spring time.

Big fan of Hard tops single engine but no Second hand Finnmaster 31OC around!

Nope not on my list of 'next boats' but if a deal is to be had it will be a good stepping stone up to a 34/35HT in 18 months time.

Performance with Kad 32's is I believe Cruising 27knots, flat out 34knots...similar to the Current boat!

Cheers

SWMBO has banned me from bringing any more boat brochures into the house as I have a filing cabinet full. Actually it's quite useful to be able to refer back to old brochures and pricelists if you're considering a used boat to get an idea of likely performance and see how much the boat has depreciated in value

Targa 28 is the same hull as a T29, except T29 has a longer bathing platform and slight redesigned to the cockpit area you can expect a Crusing speed 25-30 Knots approx 8 -10 gallons an hour & WOT 36 knot+ subject to weather conditions etc.
Very good handling and performance.
The hurtful bit original dealers sales invoice 1995 model with twin petrols £58K.

The original owner could have had 10years cheap
ownership and sold at a profit.
