I have a rare and original Hasler SP2 gear which I am looking to sell. These gears need little introduction, but it is in very good original condition and even has the instructions.
This model is the same as used on Jester herself, is light and reliable in use.

Looking for a good home and £650

I know it's in the wrong forum, but I thought you chaps would appreciate it.
 
Well you have my attention! I know nothing about this unit. Does anyone here have any experiences of it and know of spares availability?

I've had Hasler SP2 gear fitted on my Atalanta for the last couple of years and can't praise it enough. It works well on all points of sail and steers a better course than I can even with a following sea. With the latch line to engage/dis engage the gear (a god send with a centre cockpit) and the endless line to adjust course the system is simplicity its self to use.

With regards to spares well its make your own if you need any as they are not available as far as I know. The only part which would present a problem if replacement was required would be the worm drive, but its well made and shouldn't give a problem.
