Hi All,

These photos and the small video may be of use to see what is lurking beneath the river when we enter and leave.

Please refer to the East Coast Pilot website for the up to date chartlet and guidance.

The buoys are in their 2021 positions.

Hi John,

Thanks yet again, these videos are superb and complement the ECP "not to be used for navigation" chartlets perfectly. The ebb was still running hard on Weir buoy, despite it being low water, I struggle to get my head round the tidal stream changing direction at times other than HW or LW, but it does seem to happen in quite a lot of places.

I've seem a 2021 photo of the Deben buoy positions, but not yet a video - am I looking in the wrong places?

Hi Roger,

I've been up the Ore several times in previous boats, but never with Wild Thyme and we've had her for 11 years now. Perhaps we should plan a MOA cruise there?

Peter.

Hi Peter,

Thanks for you kind comments, I enjoy doing them and it it helps me and our club, plus maybe anyone else who is interested. It is fascinating how things change every year.

Yes indeed the ebb on both of the rivers continue long after the sea outside has reached the lowest level. You can almost see the water gradients as the built up river levels continue to try and empty into the North sea.

I will post a new thread with the Deben video as it does get a bit lost in the other thread.

John
