evening all,
still unable to work on MiToS so working at home and thinking/searching.
Following latest discussions on the main rebuilt thread, the consensus is that I need to add another set of cleats on top of the bulwarks on the aft deck. Having two active teens on board (and inevitably their friends) is something I'm slightly worried about with bits of ss protruding from the 580-620mm high bulwarks.
I've come across retracting cleats, reasonably priced, BUT haven't managed to find any fairleads that disappear out of sight and end up flush on the capping.
So, a twofold Q:
Main set of cleats are 200mm up the bulwarks on the sides, lines going through hawseholes on the transom. That remains as is.
Cheers

So, a twofold Q:
- anyone got anything to suggest? mooring lines are approx. 25mm dia so looking for a reasonably sized approx. 250mm long device
- If I fit the retractable cleats only 150-200mm from the side to transom capping corner, can I get away without fairleads?
Mind floating pontoon is fairly low so there's going to be a steapish angle downwards (I know not right!) and even if I use these top ones for the cross lines, there may be some rubbing on the bulwarks teak edging.
