Optimists or Pessirmists?

I'm ludicrously optimistic. I'll look at the speed log and the SOG and do some arithmetic to prove to myself that we'll arrive about an hour before it actually happens.

Planning well ahead I am an optimist - have to be with our weather or I would have sold the boat. Just before I cast off the mooring ropes I am a raving pessimist and wound up something rotten. Once they are off, and it literally happens right then, I'm organised, in control, know what I'm doing and if anything slightly optimistic.

A complete roller coaster of emotions and one that has before now left me stuck in a harbour waiting for a weather window when both the boat and I can happily cope with the weather I have already got..

Cant work out if I'm an optimistic pessimist or a pessimistic optimist, either way if its been a good day or bad day , im a realist and end up in the pub :D

neither

I think I am a celebratist and an acceptamist

I just celebrate and enjoy whatever nature dishes out

my sails are always too short

and I just love being on the boat even if I am sitting below waiting for the wind to ease up or the rain to stop

I love reading on the boat - and it is a great place to write

I love the rhythem of the tides

I used to have bad days when I was racing small yachts

but now that I am a cruiser I love everything

except old inboards

In general. when it comes to sailing are you optimistic or pessimistic?
In other words is your boat half full or half empty?

Optimist all the way me

In fact, I've realised there is only one thing I hate about owing our boat and sailing her

having to come home to earn the pennies to pay for it!

I 'think' one is meant to share the half glass with the therapist, thus ( and I've got my coat on.......)

....A problem shared is a problem halved.

Bloody expensive glass of water though

Think I would top it up from a hip flask, say cheers and ask what was the question again.. ?
And the t'pist would conclude that anyone who happens to bring whisky to a meeting has a problem :D
