As winter is a good time for some boat work I plan to optimize my schema for battery charging (Azimut 46, all 12V)
Current situation is
a) 1 starter battery for Kohler generator, 100Ah
b) 1 strater / engine battery 185 Ah
c) 1 service battery bank 660 Ah
twin CAT 3208 engines with alternator ca. 40/60 A (don 't know exact type)
On shore power / or KOHLER generator (AC 230V, 32A): service battery are charged with brand new Victron Charger MultiPlus II and monitoring. Battery a) and b) have a separate charger, DOLPHIN 2 output.
Cruising offshore with twin engines running I have a very simple installation:
Port Engine / alternator is direct charging b) / 1 starter battery
Starbord Engine / alternator is direct charging c) / service battery bank
What would be the best solution to charge ALL systems / batteries with the two alternators (combination of both alternators, battery balancing) ?
