Hello all,
I am in the process of adopting a boat for Atlantic cruising and coastal outings.
Due to financial and stylistic reasons, I am looking at boats from the late 70's - early 80's. I'd rather go for a slow yet seaworthy boat, much than a racer - I am in no rush!
I came across a Neptune 33, designed by Alan Buchanan, built by Shuttlewood in the South of England. It looks like it's in a fairly good condition, the price is ok, will visit soon.
Has anyone sailed one? Or even the sibling Neptune 33 Sloop or ketch version? Any views? Any experiences? I have indeed sourced all info available online (brochures, photos, data), but cannot find any user views.
The main question is DOES IT SAIL??? And, would it "last" under force 7, should I find myself in such a situation (which will certainly happen in the Atlantic)?
