I've recently purchased VMH raster charts for OpenCPN. Unfortunately, the OpenCPN feature to dim the display for night sailing doesn't seem to work with them. Had a quick look at the OpenCPN manual and it seems it's out of their control.

The tablet is visible from the helm, so not dimming them isn't an option. I used old CM93 charts in the prototype set up last year and that was fine at night, but I really don't want to have to swap chart types when the sun goes down.

Anyone solved it?

Why not just dim using the screen brightness?

One option. It's a nice feature to be able to quickly nip down to the chart table push the button on the OpenCPN toolbar and get back up on deck. I guess you've not been able to get it working with VMH charts either.

It does work well with CM93. I've just been using it as a back up to paper charts up to now, but it is handy and I'm sure I'll come to rely on it more. Not sure I'm 100% keen to go into the control panel on Windows 10 with wet fingers but it is an option. Thanks for the suggestion.
