With weather and time on our side I'm looking into possibilities. We are currently in Sicily. Malta is the easy choice so far due to friend base. . The mooring buoy that we've been in offered in St. Paul's bay may be tricky for the weeks that it's just me and the dog, but Senglea could work? Can't fault the water taxi :)
Any other Sicilian ports ie Syracuse? Catania?
Thanks in advance

Depends what you are looking for.... We were a week in Syracuse. Anchoring is in good thick mud so the holding is excellent and there are plenty of places to leave the dinghy. You can also go to the town key which is massive and free. The trouble with it is that it can get very uncomfortable in bad weather/ winds in the wrong direction. It is a drop anchor and tie on front. There is a public tap for water. You may also be asked to move off the front if a big cruise liner comes in. The town is big with plenty to do and see and almost everything you want there.
There is always Ragusa.. good sheltered marina, lots of liveaboards, lots of social activities you can dip in or out of and a cheap gym in town which is well equipped and very reasonable. Cats are not charged extra and they have there own area away from the main pontoons to tie up to. About 15 cats here.

Syracuse is great but fouling is the worst I ever saw.
Could be the same for other bays / marinas in that area.
In one month our hull was completely covered in barnacles despite cleaning ( Snorkel and putty knife ) one hour every day.
