Open CPN

I have tried everything but i can't get Open CPN V1.2 to work with my Magellan 315. Any ideas why not.

First step might be to update OpenCPN, it's currently version 3.0.2

Second step would be to give some info as to what you're doing and what the exact problem is.

OK on new version so charts next from dropdown.What do i select for uk waters?
Also on the tutorial it mentions 'plug in flash drive?'

Most (all?) use a USB GPS plugged into the laptop to feed the GPS signal to Open CPN. I have an old Magellan GPS 300, I don't think there's a (easy) way to connect that to the laptop to feed Open CPN. Get a USB GPS from ebay, that'll work fine, e.g. I have this one...

Then you'll need to download some charts from somewhere onto your laptop and add them to Open CPN. Many people use CM93 charts that can be downloaded free (breaching copyright) from Internet, but there are numerous charts that are compatible. Numerous threads on the subject...
