PS the drinks are on everyone else, I invited Lynn to take up the position of wife-in-waiting last night, and she snatched the ring from me and stuffed it on her finger sharpish. Now the fun starts.

Suggested itenary as follows...

Thursday/Friday night/Saturday day - East coast to Oostende
Sunday - in Oostende for sea festival
Monday - Oostende via Flushing into the Walcheren canal to Middelburg
Tuesday - day in Middelburg
Wednesday - Middleburg through VersMeer/Westerschelde to Zierkzee
Thursday - day in Zierkzee
Friday - out through Roompotsluis to home ports

The idea here is that there is plenty of chance to cut an early departure either out through Roompotsluis, or back via Flushing if the weather looks dodgy...

Boats are departing from various East Coast destinations from Lowestoft to Ramsgate from Thursday night to Saturday morning....

Very nice and welcome to Oostende but keep in mind that we have "Oostende voor Anker" that same weekend wich meens for Dok 1 of Mercator Marina that all boats must leave their moorings to go to Dok 2 or RNSYC & RYCO yacht clubs and this meens its more full than in summertime. getting place for 15 yachts could be a problem as most dont accept reservations that weekend, maybe i can help if you like me to, my homebase = Oostende /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Thanks very much..... when we get closer, i'll probably get in touch to see how you can help..... we also have Yanita coming along (or rather we are coming along on Yanita's, Sailorman's and Centesimus's trip, as they've been doing the trip this weekend for several years), who has also been Oostende based until very recently, so I believe that Robert the harbourmaster does his best to accomodate us....

I doubt we'll have 15 boats turn up..... in reality, I suspect we'll end up with about 10.....

Hi

Interested to see the itinerary for the week. We will probably be cruising the same area with some Club boats from Dover (White Cliffs Motorboat & Yacht Club) so would be good to meet up during the week & possibly Oostende on the Saturday.

Before there were no problems but maybe you dont know what kind of marketing machine they have put on since last year ( i happen to live here... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gifsince the last 38 years... /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif), and a lot of sailing flotillia's are comming down that weekend so referring to the last 21 years is no point. there are more boats than 21 years ago too /forums/images/graemlins/blush.gif
