Just been down to the boat to check its was OK in this freeze & found I'd left the Webasto on since the last visit a week ago.Boat is in the water. It was on very low & nothing had frozen on the boat!! Apart from a bit of diesel used it still seems OK & when turned up still worked. Will I have done any long term damage?

Have you checked the domestic batteries? Might be a bit short on voltage if the heater's been running for a week .

No damage occurs from use. The Webasto loves to work

A good charge of batteries as suggested will put them back to 100%. You really should do this as the batteries suffer from not being charged and withstands freezing a lot better when full.

These things must have a design life of several thousand hours so no harm done at all by your 150 hours extra running. Batteries will be flattened if isolated, as people said, but if you were on shorepower they'll be fine. All in all I think you did the boat a favour by leaving the heating on

Indeed,- if on shore power and charger your batteries didn't even notice the incident.

We are on shore power so it seems I got away with it. At least the boat was kept warm-ish! Funily enough it seemed one of the few with no snow on it !!!!

Leave mine on low all the time this time of year, was told by Keto who fitted it that's what they like to do.

He told me at boat show he spoke to someone who had one, he left it on high, ran for couple weeks before it ran out of fuel.
