That 4th Wind looks interesting. Is it an Aztec (?) Cat? I always sit up and wonder when I see an apparently abandoned boat, and micro multis are fun things.
Used to do that with a SeaWych to get her on the trailer from the hard.
With 2 big or 3 small people hanging on the bow to tilt her forward, we placed 12" blocks under the aft end of the keels. Then the 3 moved to the transom and tilted her right back as in the photo.
Then we would push the trailer with greased runners under the bilge keels as in the photo and chock the wheels. The 3 then moved to the bow and while standing on the trailer pulled it down until boat and trailer were level, then with a bit of a push and a wiggle we would slide the keels along the trailer channels until it was balanced.
Did it a few times, sounds worse that it was in practise.
Still not rigged the Cunningham then, Phil? /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
Ah. Jimi. I've explained this before. It is operator error, but I have excuses.
The main was hoisted when the mainsheet was taut, so I didn't get the headplate high enough and I've pulled the gooseneck down as far as it will go.
(Besides, when I hauled it up to my satisfaction, the sailmaker said it was too tight.)
The foresail is a bit worn so it bellies between the hanks when the wind blows hard.
As the wind picked up and I was alone, I settled for what I had. I can't abide luffing up to make adjustments.
That's my excuse and I'm sticking to it. Anyway it was Boxing Day and I was just doing what came naturally.
(I have now made a cunningham so I'll be able to adjust the main easily.)
Ermm, But yes, you're right. /forums/images/graemlins/crazy.gif
