Ooooohhh! Posh or what?!

Did you say 'anywhere' or just in the UK? If it's anywhere in the world, I was impressed with the Barbados Yacht Club which is in an old colonial style building. Very posh. Ladies loos have loos, showers, dressing tables and over-the-top chintzy furnishings. There's even a made up bed in case one get's an attack of the vapours at any time and needs a little lie down.

Checked out the re-furbed heads at Shotley!

Still not fixed the nite-mirrors over the bogs I noted... but dead posh!

Look Great!

Faux marble walls and little seats in the showers......
But NO COATHOOKS in the basin area, how is a man to shave. Otherwise very posh, hope the daily cleaning keeps up the standard.

Good to see some positive feedback.
Unfortunately, Over the weekend somebody decided to clean their anti-foul brushes/pots in the new facilities and made a bit of a mess as you can imagine!!
For the record, we have re-located one of the old Butler sinks, which was removed during the refurb, and it is now around the back of the block (signs on the way) and we hope by having this facility for general 'dirty' gear use then the ablution block can stay clean and tidy for what it was intended.
Regarding the coathooks in the sink areas, these are also on their way and should be fitted soon so your shaving experience should be a much more enjoyable one next time your down!!.:D

Thanks for the news on the coathooks. Re the "dirty jobs" perhaps some signs needed, though I think it was stated in the Shotley newsletter that they would be round the back. You would expect any berthholder at Shotley to know, and to take a bit more pride in their surroundings. I have a fairly good idea of the culprit though, but no proof.

That is horrendous, some people are just appalling in their treatment of facilities.

Re shaving, are there mirrors which are at a suitable height now? Previously it was something of a backstrain to shave as the mirrors over the sinks were so low. I am under 6' so not especially tall.

No sorry Mirrors are same height with built in lights, but the sinks are lower if that helps?:D

You kniw, that really pisses me off. We get a nice new facility and some **** has to wreck the place before anyone even has a chance to try it out.

Can it be cleaned up or is it permanent?

One other thing... can we please get some none reflective something or other... maybe a frost... coverage for the two velux windows over the bogs... at night its highly dodgy being able to look into the next bog.... and in return being looked at...

Luckily the cleaner was able to find something to clean it up before it set too hard but lets hope the culprit will see this thread and think twice in future!.
Regarding the Velux windows.........DON'T LOOK UP!!!!!;)
Have just spoken to the boss and he will look into the possibility of having some sort of frosting applied.

I missed this post yesterday... Unbelievable! Truly gobsmacked. I think a note describing that in the next 'all clients' posting wouldn't go amiss. It might shame someone into thinking a bit in the future...
