So there we were, pottering along towards Rhosneiger, not a care in the world when, from what seemed out of nowhere, there was a blast of horns and we were overtaken by a glistening white boat at close quarters. Through the spray and disturbance we could just make out the name of the vessel

LITTLESHIP!

Ruddy hooligan, dont believe this 6 knots rubbish, she's was doing 9 at least!

Video evidence to follow if I can work out how to put it on!

No Phil, you push the levers forwards, to go that way, if you push them back, even rocks will pass you.

I was experimenting with speed V fuel economy. Kept her at 6 knots all the way there and back except for the occasional short run on the plane at 18 knots (ish) to catch Littleship up again, still can't believe I'm saying that!.:o

Didn't use much fuel though:)

And there we were (fred drift) dinghy, friday night, pottering to the pile mooring on Pwllheli, piled up with the week end gear, when down the channel comes a mobo, bow in the air, music blaring and a fecking big stern wave! aaargh, my bow to meet the wave, swmbo spreadeagles herself across the luggage, and swamp, fekkin ass hole, oggin everywhere, i shout at him, the bimbo with the glasses on the top of her head looks away, he ignores us and they continued down the channel with their own private party going on. Not happy, why do mobos do it?

They've probably got a caravan on The Warren as well!
But hey , no matter.
Cos I believe it was as flat as a witches t%t there last weekend.
Don't ferget
The Knob will probably **** imself if its more than force 3 and won't venture out the marina fer fear of getting back to his berth!!!
Tother thing
Lots with sports cruisers think they are going 'slow' at 10/14 kts
But don't realise that at that speed they are bow high and causing loads of wash.

I believe it is the 'odd one' not the majority thank Christ!!

It's ignorance, Stu. They're the sort of people who leave litter at beauty spots after their barbies. They are just so self centred it never occurs to them that someone else might be affected by their actions.

There was a small gang of jetskis in the River Seoint on Sunday, about half a dozen fat old gits with tattoos looking like beached whales in their bulging wetsuits. It's a small river, full of moorings, many boats tied against a rough stone quay. They were not exactly speeding, but they certainly weren't at tickover. Weaving in & out crossing each others' wash - all the boats (many with people aboard working below or on deck or cooking) bobbing violently about. People needing to grab tools, drinks, paint pots etc. Just what is the point? It's like riding motorbikes thro a mall, pointless and aggravating.

Here's the proper way to post it.

Anyway, the miscreant won't see it until later this week as he is still painting the Forth Bridge.

And, he has just left here after eating all my food and beating my arse on Xbox Call of Duty 4.

He arrived at 6.30 and I managed to push him out of the door at 10.30 PM.

He was last seen weaving his way down the dock at less than 9 knots.

I suspect that Tom got wind of the impending seige on his drinks cabinet and dipped into that reserve power of that big lehman.

Good on you Tom! Nice show of speed.

Just got back home, cant seenm to down load the video :( but just for info

1500 revs 1 1/2 gallons/hr and pushing a 2' bow wave crew with a cup in hand and the Admiral sat on the rear deck....... what a graceful old tub LS is. just think what she could do at 2000 revs :)

Thanks for the company over the weekend and helping to clear the cabinet ... again !
