I had a sail on one of these today and it was quite nice! It has a power shower and comfy chairs for swmbo, and has two diesels AND goes suitably quick even with BOTH engines turned off.
oh dear, you've been reading too many Stingo and VictorAspey posts. Next thing we know you'll be giving Victor a call to do a trade in on DianaII on a motorcat
er well i don't own the "one of these" so the profile is ok.
"Why?" - it's relatively fast under sail, roomy, super-stable at anchor, deck saloon for nice views from inside, nice near-mobo quality finish inside, hardtop for shade, white decks for easy maintenance, two engines for tight manoevering and spare if one fails, and has a swmbo-approved power shower.
I suppose i was asking for views and hoping that people wouldn't point and laugh and say har har look at that worthless pile of junk, like they would if i was considering say er oh! um well, never mind...
It all depends on what you want. Look at what you have and then ask - what would you rather have instead?
Look at my profile, then look at my posts and then you'll know where I'm going. But all these things take time (money) and we all have to wait our turn!
What ever you replace current boat with has, IMHO, to be something "on the way to" what you aspire to.
How far "along the way" is down to your own personal circumstances.
Give me "mega-bucks" and I'll have "my" boat tomorrow.
Um, this thing is getting bigger both in length and width, apparently. Are you sure you want an unobtrusive, easy to park, loadsa room in the marina Privelege, or perhaps somewhat less flashy bit more anonymous 40 something mono just to bum around in when in the uk?
Very nice, but too much like mobo, which is ok I spose, as you are leaping the divide the 'wrong' way. Also, can see attraction to keeping swmbo onside. Power shower and spare engine apart, it looks v.nice, cept for the nobby (to me) looking tent around the panoramic bit on top at the back. All hangs a bit vertical.
Are the fruit bowls nailed down, and are the fruit bits resin or real wax?
My point is that "he" is suggesting that "one of these" is a step up from what he has already. On the other hand "he" suggests that he couldn't handle anything bigger than what "he" has already.(TCM - Sorry to keep referring to you as "he")
At the end of the day, buy and subsequently sail, or motor, what you want to sail. Why ask others when you have probably already made your own mind anyway!
Brendan - Not quite sure what you are getting at, but is not life all about assumptions?
What I'm trying to say is " do what you want to do". The Boat "tcm" referred to is verry nice, is it better than what he already has? Well only he can make that decision.
Kim
"Couldn't handle" was actually "not qualified to" (handle) a larger boat..... My ICC says 80 ish foot I think, 200 tons, so I am not qualified to either.....
