I recently found out that Peel Ports at Sheerness are no longer having printed tide tables. They do have the full years tides available on line at http://www.sheppeyfossils.com/pages...s-for-the-river-medway-and-thames-estuary.pdf. Tides for the end of March start on page 18.

What is most useful is they quote the tides for Dover, Margate, Shivering Sands, Walton, Sheerness and Chatham on a single page. Many East Coast sailors might find this very useful.

Roger, you are obviously not a member of a MSBA affiliated club or organisation. Peel Ports tend to communicate with the MSBA rather than Clubs and Marinas. It well worth subscribing on the MSBA website http://msba.org.uk/ for updates and news about the river. The MSBA publicised that in December.

I am no longer a member of any yacht club, even when I was this information was not passed on. The MSBA web site is one I visit occasionally, but missed the December news item.

The layout of the tidal information is definitely very useful for planning a trip compared to using Reeds, so I am printing the pages for the summer months to have handy on board.

It's quite a good document generally. One thing I find strange is how Peel Ports have made a big thing about the 250m exclusion zone for leisure users around the Gas terminal when a tanker is there, both in this document and have said it at meetings I have attended. Their NTM, unless they have changed it in the last month or so says the 250m exclusion zone is for vessels over 50m LOA. There's not many leisure vessels on the Medway over 50m.

I've added a link to the very useful Peel Ports document on the "Weather" page of the MSBA website. If you want a traditional small printed booklet, the PLA send them to for free with a chart of the Thames if you sign up to the Thames Tidal Navigators Club. The tides include Southend which is similar to Sheereness.
