Online list of Thames boat names

A search here and elsewhere hasn't provided the answer, so I'll be grateful if someone can point me to an online list of Thames boat names... I think I recall that there was one, some time ago, but a lot of Rioja and JD has passed under the bridge (of the nose) since then...

Please note, I'm not after owners' details, just looking for a distinctive and available name for a boat...

It is also not accurate !

When I sold the Pedro in September 2010 I kept the boat name and carried it across to the Hardy 27
The list currently shows:

As you can see it still shows my old boat and the current registration for 2014 is not shown.

It is as accurate as the records allow, however your old boat will be on there in perpetuity as old records are not deleted.
Thus my present boat is on their three times if you search 53845 under registrations, you will see that in 4 years its had 3 names, actually 4 but one was under the EA so doesn't show on that search.
The new and old registrarions of your old boat show up if you search under the reg number.
 
I'm listed as both I and II. With a rather strange registration number considering the name of the boat. Either total coincidence, or someone thought it would be funny when they dished the numbers out

It should be remembered that Jim Sheads list is not in anyway official, all he has done is hijack some free EA information and publish it on the web for those interested, it is not
guaranteed to be correct or upto date in anyway.

Believe he was actually provided with the information by the EA but with no guarantee of accuracy - don't think its possible to hijack it anywhere! Not sure if they will still supply though, seem to remember someone complained about data protection etc.
Personally, can't see why the EA couldn't publish a list of boats registered in current year - no personal details , just boat name. Would make it a lot easier to suss out those that haven't paid !

Not sure about now but TV licence and other utilities evasion in Japan was close to zero because the licence fee collectors put little coloured stickers above the front door when someone paid. Japanese culture hates to be seen as not having paid - no sticker = big loss of face issue.

It's turned out to be an interesting experience finding which names aren't listed on the Thames. We've now got a list of lovely (and apparently available) names for the new boat. There are some surprising ones seemingly untaken. No 'Infinity' for example (I won't list the other ones because we're as yet undecided). Another fun one which I was expecting to see there but wasn't is Thamesorisis. Of course, if you chose that, you'd then have to decide which way to pronounce it, but you could have a laugh along the way.
 
I think it was obtained under a freedom of information act request. Something we are all at liberty to make.

If you have issues with the data you can request a copy of YOUR data from the licensing authority under the data protection act. They may make a nominal charge for this service (£20??).

If the data is incorrect, you have rights in law to have it corrected.
 
The usual method to half inch a boat name already taken which you might fancy is to stick a location of your choice on the end
ie. Miserable Git becomes Miserable Git of Bagdad or similar. Annoys people no end apparently. :)

Who on earth would want to enhance their boat name in such a fashion...? :o
