Princess exhausts - Prinnie 315 just out of the water, noticed that the exhaust outlets appear to be blocked. There is a sort of webbing which appears to have delaminated in the metal outlet tubes. Does anybody (Byron) know what it is likely to be? Is it some sort of bonding between the metal tube and the rubber inner exhaust? Can we just pull it out and leave it clear or is it more serious (please God no).

I also need to check the recommended prop size/pitch, any contact point at Princess that anybody knows about.

Thanks all.

No. Go to the horses mouth and ask Princess what they fitted when new. There very good. Thats wot I did when wanted to know, but to lazy to swim about under boat.
192 Princess Plymouth. Might as wel ask them about your exhaust thingy stuff at the same time.

I can't work out in my mind what you mean. The exhausts should be free. Surely the exhaust pipe goes right down to a metal outlet and even if the pipe is shot it's no big thing to replace.

In that case, I think you will find your exhaust hoses to the skin fittings have delaminated, if they have, they will have to be replaced, no way round it. IMHO

No. The actual metal outlet pipes appear to be lined with something and this is what appears to have delaminated, it's on the inside of the pipe not the outside, so now it is a crinkled up it is blocking the exhaust. Everyone seems mystified.

Puzzled! Just popped down the garden to look at mine which come out the side of the boat, not the stern. They are just plain stainless steel 'chutes'.
Hopefully! Maybe its something that's got in there, what
happens if you tug at them, what are they made of and are they on both outlets?
Just a thought, could they be something coming down from the actual re-inforced rubber exhausts?

They seem to be bonded to the tubes. A sort of webbing which has gone hard. I don't think they have come down the tubes from further up as they are suspiciously flush with the outlets.

There isn't any type of bonding which attaches the metal outlets to the rubber exhaust is there? Even if there was I would assume that it would be wrapped around the outside of the tubes, not the inside.

If I remember right the exhaust tube is reinforced with metal wire. If the tube is failing maybe that has come loose and is making its way down the exhaust. I don't know, I really don't, its a right old puzzle.
Have you tried posting the query in the PBO Forum? There's some right clever dudes in there.

Re: Digital Camera

Naah! You would need a beard, bobble hat and B.O. if it was a Narrowboat Forum though.
