I have a three-cornered hat. I wonder if anyone woud know which way round it should be worn? With one of the points forward? Or with one of the flat bits forward? Surely this question has come up before?

Point forward I reckon. Time was though when men were men and the hat had 2 points worn athwartships - never mind all this nancy boy for and aft business - just ask Jack!

What a stupid question

Its obvious to anyone with half a brain that the point bit faces aft to enable it to drain when its raining without drowning the wearer. I finer weather I usually wear mine at a jaunty angle in preparation for the odd doff.
