Once again “Oktoberfest” (Severn Estuary style) is almost upon us!

The weekend of Friday 10th, Saturday 11th and Sunday 12th of October is the annual visitation to Lydney by our neighbouring clubs, Thornbury Sailing Club. Portishead cruising Club, Chepstow and District yacht Club, Cardiff yacht Club and the “Swoggers” from Cardiff Bay YC. Anyone else from the Channel yachting fraternity, needless to say, is very welcome to come and join us. We have proven that we can get 45 boats in Lydney Dock (Our Rally, June 2014) so let’s see if we can break all records and get 50 in this time.

The dock gates are now both working, thanks to the tireless work of the good old EA, so we can now accommodate boats 25 feet wide!!!!.

If you are intending to come please do inform David Penfold, our Long-Suffering harbour master, on 07768 861262 to book your berth.

Food will be available (details to be advised) and the objective is to have a phenomenal fun-weekend and drink the place completely dry. So come by sea or by road (you can pitch your tent) and enjoy our excellent draught beer, great food and roaring fire!

Please do bring your musical instruments and a new supply of Sea-Shanties!!

Best wishes to all and we look forward to welcoming you all to Lydney once again.
