On the Rockies..

I'm off for a couple of weeks "5 wheeler trailering" (Pickup + trailer) between Vancouver & Calgary via the parks. As our planned route takes us in the vicinity of the forest fires (over 40000 people have already been evacuated from their homes) I would like to thank everybody for the wonderful and stimulating correspondance over the last 8 or so months ....

Did the same trip Sept 2001 (landed in Seattle 2 days before '9/11'), but took in Vancouver Island as well. Fantastic country, right time of year. If the fires divert you, consider Vancouver Is. Plenty of whales off the west coast/Pacific Rim National Park - California Greys!
If you ain't toast, you'll love it.

Thanks John but this is a sort of pilgrimmage as I lived in both Vancouver and Calgary as a child. The Canadian cousins are also being rolled out and so the itinerary is not altogether flexible.

Is this a rental rig? If so, didn't realise 5 wheelers could be hired. Have done RV 28' and A class hire in past, and flexibility of a truck and trailer quite appeals for ability to keep spot while going drive about ( though walk through from cab to accomodation ability of typical RV is also rather nice)
