Slipway.jpg

Just had to share......

Boat up on slipway a Friday on dry at 10:30, and in water on Monday 09:30 AM..

Power @ £25/per 24hr (un-limited, but a bit steep I thought.... :o ), water supply, 150/180 bar pressure washer, etc...

But... bill arrived today ... just under £251 for the lot ... inclusive of VAT.... any better for a 45 footer ?? :) :) :)

Just for interest sake Alf, how did the cost break down for haul-out, blocking and re-launch, then daily rate?
Sounds like good value, being in a British commercial 'big boat' slip yard.
The power rate is heavy for sure, but it has obviously balanced out in the end.

Just as a comparison, our local commercial slipway would charge you:

Haul-out, re-launch and blocking = GBP 87.50
Daily rate (including power) = GBP 27.50

Of course the fuel to get here may be a bit off putting... :)

Slip - Standard slipping rate including 1st 12 hr of occupation: £3.12 per metre
Slip - Standard rate of 12 hrs occupation; £1.56 per metre (Sunday FOC, so 3x)
EL - £25 per day of part there of (4 days used)
Water - £2.9 per tonne (two tonnes disposed of)
Oak pads & blocking - £2.40

So, if I had done an up & down in 12 hrs, it would have cost me under £100...

I think it's very good value for the money, although as you say power's a bit expensive, but when compared to sealift 2 at cowes (floating dry dock) 31ft scratch and wash £120, I hasten to add I'm very pleased with the service, by comparison your deal was a bargain.

Thanks for sharing Alf.

as always a great detailed post, very informative.
